Jonathan Ball has the following set of very interesting beliefs. I
think these are all quite provocative ideas and deserve serious
discussion.

(1) If a person publishes a document on the Internet which is a draft
of a mathematical paper intended for publication in a peer-reviewed
mathematical journal, and the paper contains a word which is part of a
specialized vocabulary and which cannot be found in the first online
dictionary you consult, then that is "inappropriate use of specialized
jargon" and entitles you to call the person a "pompous fat fuck".

[A few further thoughts on this point. I wonder how many online
dictionaries Ball consulted. And did he think of typing the word into
Google? How's that for a bright idea, Ball? I might also mention the
incident where he told me that "disanalogy" wasn't a word. The first
thing I did was type the word into Google whereupon I got about
100,000 hits. I admit I did have to go through about three online
dictionaries before I found it. The word was first used in the
seventeenth century. Clearly, Ball researches his thoughtful claims
very extensively.]

(2) If anyone maintains that there is any sense at all in which meat
production might be considered an inefficient use of resources, then
that person is an economic illiterate.

(3) John Rawls' book "A Theory of Justice", generally considered the
most influential work in political philosophy of the twentieth
century, is of such poor quality that John Rawls ought to have been
thrown out of academia for it. Jonathan Ball considers himself
competent to judge the matter despite his admission that he has not
read all of the book.

(4) Immigration restrictions are consistent with libertarian
principles.

(5) Nonhuman animals never anticipate anything.

(6) If you are having a debate with someone, and that person presents
you with a clearly formulated formal argument with three premises and
a conclusion, and politely asks you to identify which premise is wrong
or why you think the argument is invalid, and you blabber on in a non-
responsive fashion for about 50 posts that they are "begging the
question", then you are "kicking that person's flabby ass".

I think that will do for now.

It is certainly a very intellectually rewarding experience debating
with the esteemed economics Ph.D. graduate Jonathan Ball.
