Could someone please let me know where I can get information on what
is ok to post in a newsgroup and what is not....

The reason I ask is because I see quite a few blatant advertisements
here and no-one seems to say anything - but then I posted details of
our website, which I did declare as an advert (all be it not in the
subject line), but website has been built with the traveller in mind
and contains really useful information for anyone thinking of
travelling to Africa. Over 700 pages containing info on every African
country.

I was kind of flamed for the posting...

I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that as this newsgroup is called
Travel.Africa, it is the ideal place for people to be made aware of
the site and other websites specifically useful to travellers.

So I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me what you can do and what
you cannot do...

Thanks
Vera.
