ik kreeg de annoncering van deze FAQ en trof het volgende stukje aan.

WHAT IS "TAB"?

"Tab" is short for "tablature", a way of writing out guitar melody
(and harmony) lines as a kind of graphic shorthand. It is written on
six lines (for six strings), and is very helpful once you get the hang
of it. Think of written music and tab as two different but similar
languages - like German and Dutch. They have some similarities, some
differences, but both translate into "sound" as the same thing.

De laatste alinea is wel aardig, duits en nederlands zijn dus
(letterlijk vertaald) gelijk maar verschillend en klinken hetzelfde.
