1. What is new JARING?

New JARING, together with a new logo, was launched on 11th Dec 2004 to
provide services based on broadband and unified communications riding on the
advanced net technologies. JARING's vision is to create one global and
borderless community which communicates through one station using one number
system. With this new vision, JARING strives to set a new standard of
value-for-money for its subscribers by providing more freedom of choice
through various unified communications products and services. JARING will
continue to enhance its customer support services to create long lasting and
trusting relationship with its subscribers.

2. What is the significance of JARING's new logo?

JARING's new logo consists of two spheres joined together with a grey 'J'.
The blue sphere represents the existence of one global JARING community
while the red sphere represents the one station provided by JARING for the
community members to get in-touch with one another. The 'J' is the one
number system provided by JARING for unified communications services serving
JARING community.

3. What are JARING new services?

JARING new services are grouped under MY015 -JARING's unified communications
services. Initially it is focused on global Internet telephony services. In
future, it will be expanded to cover vast range of utilities for global
communications services. MY015 is complemented by a new wireless broadband
service for Internet access, which is now available in certain parts of
Klang Valley and will be expanded to the whole of Malaysia from 2005.

4. How do I subscribe to MY015 telephony services?

Currently, there are three ways to get MY015 telephony services:

a) Through an analog phone attached to a JARING Wireless Station (which
provides not only telephony services but also broadband Internet access).
The service is called MY015 Wireless Phone. Please refer to Question 22 on
how to subscribe.

b) Through a soft phone which can be installed on a notebook or desktop PC.
The soft phone is now bundled together with unlimited dial-up Internet
access. The software is called MY015 Contact Soft Phone. Subscription can be
done through JARING Self-Care portal (https://www.online.jaring.my).

c) Through an analog phone attached to an Analog Telephone Adaptor (ATA).
The ATA device can be connected to any broadband Internet, anywhere in the
world. The service is called MY015 ATA Phone. To subscribe to this service,
a subscriber must first purchase a certified ATA device from any of JARING's
authorized resellers (the list of which will be made available in due
course). Please contact JARING for service availability and ATA device
pricing.

5. Can I subscribe to MY015 telephony services if I have broadband or
dial-up access from another provider?

Yes. You can use either MY015 Contact Soft Phone or MY015 ATA Phone.

6. What are the subscription fees for MY015 telephony services?

a) MY015 Wireless Phone is bundled with a JARING Wireless Station for
broadband Internet. For home users, one additional phone line (on a Wireless

Plan.

b) MY015 Contact Soft Phone subscription rate is RM30/month for home users
and RM60/month for business users, inclusive of JARING Community Call Plan

telecommunications service providers. Calls made to1511 phone number,
wherever available, are charged at 1.5 sen/minute.

c) MY015 ATA Phone subscription rate is RM45/month per line, inclusive of
JARING Community Call Plan.

members) to communicate with one another free of charge, through any MY015

members will have phone numbers with the 015 prefix.

8. Are there any other call plans?

Yes. JARING also has three other promotional call plans:

a) Nationwide Call Plan which enables JARING MY015 telephony subscribers to
make unlimited number of calls to any fixed-line phones anywhere within
Malaysia, anytime, at an introductory fixed monthly fee of RM50. (The usual
rate is 10sen/minute.)

subscribers to make unlimited number of calls to any fixed-line phones in
certain selected countries, anytime, at an introductory fixed monthly fee of
RM150. The current countries in Group A are Australia, Canada, China, Hong
Kong and USA. The countries are subject to change from time to time.

c) International Group B Call Plan. This will be introduced at a later date.

9. If I don't subscribe to any of these call plans, what are the phone call
rates?

Currently, JARING Community Call Plan is free for all JARING MY015 telephony
subscribers. Hence, you will get to enjoy it whether you specifically
subscribe to it or not. For phone calls to non-subscribers of JARING MY015
telephony services, please refer to JARING website: www.jaring.my. JARING
offers attractive introductory call rates - call rate to any fixed-line
phones within Malaysia is 10 sen/minute and call rate to any mobile phone
within Malaysia is 20 sen/minute. Call rates to other countries vary,
starting from 10 sen/minute.

10. How do I pay for my MY015 phone calls?

All phone calls are charged on a prepaid basis. Your account (service
wallet) must have a positive balance to enable you to make phone calls.
Please top up your account as and when necessary, any time. Please refer to
other relevant questions in this FAQ document for more detailed information
about the payment process.

11. What is JARING Wireless Station?

JARING Wireless Station is a device which enables JARING subscribers to have
broadband Internet access as well as telephony services. It is a box
measuring about 20cm x 15 cm x 8 cm. A Wireless Station must first be
connected to a power supply point. It normally takes less than 5 minutes to
power up (assuming it is installed within JARING wireless coverage area).
During the power up process, the Wireless Station will establish a high
speed radio link with a nearby JARING Wireless Center (or base station).
Once the link is established, it will stay connected as long as power supply
is available.

12. How do I know whether I am in JARING wireless coverage area or not?

JARING is continuously adding new Wireless Centers throughout the country.
The latest information about the coverage areas is available on JARING
website - www.jaring.my. Please take note that the coverage lists or maps
provided through the website are indicative only. The actual coverage will
depend on the terrain conditions and building structure. Radio signals do
get absorbed or scattered by various objects in its path. Service
availability in a particular area or building can only be confirmed after
installing a JARING Wireless Station at the site.

13. Can I get my money back if, after I registered, I cannot get the service
in my house or office?

Yes, of course. Please return the JARING Wireless Station to the nearest
JARING's Anjung Internet outlet within 7 days after registration.

14. What can I do with a JARING Wireless Station?

You can connect a notebook or desktop PC through an RJ45 socket available on
the JARING Wireless Station for your normal broadband Internet access. You
can also connect one or two analog (household) phone sets to a JARING
Wireless Station for MY015 telephony services. Each phone line will have its
own unique MY015 phone number. You can make calls to any telephone in the
world through this phone. Once JARING's national interconnection
arrangements with other local telephony operators are fully operational, you
can receive incoming phone calls from anywhere in Malaysia. Incoming calls
from certain countries are already enabled.

15. Is JARING Wireless Center similar to Wi-Fi hotspot?

No. JARING wireless services operate using a licenced radio frequency
spectrum (about 2.6 GHz) which is exclusively reserved for JARING only. Each
JARING Wireless Center (or base station) has a radius of coverage of about 5
km. On the other hand, Wi-Fi hotspots operate using a shared radio frequency
spectrum (about 2.4 GHz or 5.7 GHz). Many Wi-Fi service providers are
providing hotspots using the same shared spectrum within a small
geographical area (usually less than 50m radius) - creating high level of
interference between one another. JARING wireless is not affected by such
interference.

16. Would there be any interference between JARING wireless signal and
mobile phone or cordless phone signals?

No. JARING wireless services operate using a different radio frequency
spectrum compared to cordless phone or mobile phone services. However,
please take note that certain low quality cordless phones may interfere with
JARING wireless services. If you plan to use a cordless phone together with
a JARING Wireless Station, please make sure to test it first. JARING will be
happy to work with any cordless phone manufacturer or distributor to conduct
a proper technical test.

17. Can JARING wireless services be affected by certain weather conditions?

JARING wireless operates at radio frequency of about 2.6 GHz. The wavelength
at this frequency is about 115 millimeters (or about 4.5 inches) which is
much longer than the normal diameter of a raindrop. Hence the radio signal
is less susceptible to scattering or absorption by raindrops. However, in
certain fringe areas far from JARING Wireless Center(s) where the radio
signal is rather weak, subscribers may experience certain degradation of
service during heavy rain or dense fog. JARING does not recommend
installation of Wireless Stations in such areas where wireless radio signals
are very weak.

18. What are the subscription fees for the wireless broadband services?

There are a few wireless broadband packages

a) Home Basic

The introductory monthly fee is RM100, inclusive of unlimited Internet

21. What kind of speed can I get with a JARING Wireless Station?

Data transmission speed is provided on a best effort basis. There are many
factors that can affect the speed at any particular moment. Internet is a
shared global network. The speed depends on the source of data or
information and the path it takes to reach a user. The data normally passes
through many independent service providers spanning across the globe. The
number of users who share the network capacity changes every second and
their usage patterns also are not predictable. JARING's engineering team
continuously monitors our network capacity and utilization to provide the
best experience for JARING subscribers. Please refer to Question 18 for the
maximum speed that one can have for each package.

22. How do I subscribe to JARING wireless services?

You can register through JARING Self-Care portal (www.online.jaring.my) or
through any one of JARING's Anjung Internet outlets or authorized resellers
(to be appointed). Locations and contact information of Anjung Internet is
available at www.jaring.my. JARING needs to validate your identity and your
address during the registration process. JARING will keep a copy of your IC

bill) for its reference. A subscriber is also required to sign an agreement
with JARING which includes Terms and Conditions of Services, available for

you subscribe to a Home Standard package and your billing date is on the 1st
day of every month, you must have at least RM125 in your account on the 1st
