Commercial Entities Defined
---------------------------
A 'commercial entity' is a person or company that actively engages in
the supply of goods and services to hunters with a reasonable
expectation of profit. This includes, but is not restricted to:
Wholesale, Retail and Manufacturers of Hunting goods, Outdoor Apparel
and Equipment, Lodges, Guide Services, Hotel and Resort Accommodations.

This does NOT include individuals who wish to buy, sell or trade their
personal possessions.

Non Commercial Posts From Commercial Entities
---------------------------------------------
Informative and discussion messages from commercial entities are
welcome. We appreciate the skills and knowledge of those who make a
living from hunting, and we strongly encourage your input. To avoid any
confusion about whether or not a commercial entity can post, it is the
CONTENT of the message, not the status of the poster that decides the
appropriateness of a message.

Content
-------
All postings should show reasonable self-restraint and mutual respect.
We want to make this newsgroup a friendly place for all, and wish to
portray a positive image of Canada.

Language
--------
Postings in any language are welcome, the poster should however, realize
that any particular choice of language will restrict the number of
people who can (a) benefit from your postings or (b) answer your
questions.

Why Create It?
===========
There is an demand for a Canadian hunting newsgroup. Existing hunting
newsgroups are inadequate at serving the needs of the hunters of Canada.
There is a huge volume of posts made to foreign sites and the search for
Canadian content can be quite intensive. A search from August 16, 1997
to Aug. 16, 1998 shows there is approximately 1700 posts in the last
year requesting information on hunting in Canada. Some of the various
newsgroups involved include: rec.hunting.dogs, alt.travel.canada,
rec.hunting, rec. guns, alt.archery, rec.travel.usa-canada,
gov.us.topic.nat-resources.wildlife, rec.outdoors.fishing,
alt.test.flyfishing, can.talk.guns. Can.rec.hunting will be the
definitive newsgroup for that information. Canada is under represented
by these other newsgroups. The opportunities and situations here in
Canada are different than elsewhere. The newsgroup can.rec.hunting will
be an excellent resource of information and allow Canadians and people
who hunt in Canada to exchange opinions and information with their
peers.
