You too can get your questions added to the (R) FAQ. All you need to
do is put (R) in your screen name and ignore my answers to repeat the
same question over a hundred times. This will of corse be a work in
progress.
So far all questions are from (R) to myself.
1) Q: So House, what is your standard?
A: Reality
-
-
2) Q: Do you mean reality as filtered through your five senses or
"reality by House"?
A: No. Just reality. Like everyone else I experience the human
condition and I get my information through subjective senses. However
that is how I get information, not my standard. I believe God created
reality. Objective reality is my standard. When reality is in
conflict with my subjective senses then my senses must be wrong.

3) Q: Which passages in the Bible, if any, do you claim are the true
and trustworthy word of God?
A: I can't prove that any of them are. Still I find some parts of
the Bible to be inspiring, wholesome, good, and even at a few places a
break threw and cornerstone for moral, ethical, liberty and/or
equality. I would like to keep an open mind in such cases. I believe
God could have inspired men to write the good in the Bible. I'm not
going to blindly accept the part of the Bible that seem to be
corrupted by men.

4) Q: How can you claim to be trusting your eternal soul to any God
the Bible proclaims, while arguing you don't know which, if any parts
of that Bible is the true and trustworthy word of God?
A: What choice do I have? If I have a soul (and I believe I do) then
what can I do about it? I didn't make the Bible contradict itself. I
can either lie to protect the Bible or move on in the truth. What
good does lying for the Bible do? I don't see how that would help my
soul or impress a real God. If God is impressed by lies then we are
in trouble. I think it would be better to trust God. That is why I
presume good things about God. I might be wrong but I'm going to give
God the benefit of doubt.

5) Q: If you are still claiming to trust in someone you call "God"
and "Jesus", which "God" and "Jesus" are you talking about, since,
according to what you are apparently claiming, you have no basis for
trusting in the same God and Christ we know about from the Bible?
A: The real God, if any. If a God exists then that real God would be
the answer. I exist. If I was created by a deity then there you go.
Again I didn't choose to be in a world with a contradictory Bible or a
lack of additional evidence for a creator. If God is a real being
then the rules that apply to real beings come into play and
subjective, false beliefs we have about that being do not alter that
being.

6) Q: Why do you not simply tell people you proclaim a different
"God" and "Christ" than the one taught in the Bible, and tell us what
source gave you faith in this different God you are trying to
proselyte men to?
A: I'm not trying to start a religion. I'm just responding to the
world I find myself in, the spiritual hunger in my heart and the faith
I have in God. You are the one who asserts that it is a different
God. You support that. I'm not trying to proselytes anyone.
(R) be sure to let me know what other questions you think deserve to
be on this list - by asking them over and over again.
